Introduction

The Ciclos Uno training camp is an early season break in Majorca to enable cyclists of all levels to get in some early season training miles.

The History

This all started several years ago when, fed up with the winter and Christmas, 6 of us booked a last-minute 7 day package holiday to Majorca on 4th January. The sun shone for a week and we did 400 miles whilst living like real Pros. Next year it was two weeks and again sunshine. 70 degrees in January and only two hours away. The date has drifted back slightly to coincide with the Pro tour, but the thought of this pre-season break gets us through the winter. All the regulars seems to know exactly how many days it is until departure.

We try always to make the camp coincide with the Pro Tour of Majorca, and one year we had an extra bonus when a stage started within 100 yards of the hotel. Unlike the big tours the pros are only too happy to stop and chat - after all this tour is only a training ride for them. I even have a photo of Franco Ballerini getting my wife's autograph.

If February is too early for you, why not try the Ciclos Sun Camp in the last two weeks of April. This camp has been running for 25 years, and has good training group structure. Many people go to both.

For Veteran racers, Ciclos Uno organize a trip to the 5-day Vets tour of Majorca, usually held late season. This is very tough, but caters for all levels and everyone gets a prize. Note that you don't have to finish (or even start!) every day but can partake as you wish. Again contact Trevor at the shop for details.

Pollensa Park Hotel

Some great new facilities have been added to the Pollensa Park Hotel, it has gone to great expense and installed a Fitness Room, Sauna, Steam Room, Jacuzzi and small Indoor Pool. There are changing rooms and toilets also, all facilities are available to use on all of our holidays including the Hobby Club Apartment Holidays.

Secure Bike Storage in Mallorca

We can now offer you secure bike storage in Puerto Pollensa. If you visit Mallorca regularly this may well be of interest to you. You can leave your bike safely locked away and all hung separately so little chance of damage for only 1 euro a day i.e. 52 euros per year payable in advance. You can collect and return your bike at almost any time even weekends.
